Simple Shredding With A Green Promise

We Always Choose To Recycle Waste Rather Than Destroy

We are being told almost daily that the world's resources are being depleted and that we should all do our bit to help. Within the last few years most councils have introduced some sort of recycling system for home waste and this is likely to be extended still further in the future. Simply Shredding aims to recycle all of the waste it creates through its shredding and baling operations throughout the UK.

What Do We Recycle

This may vary from depot to depot but the main two items that we are usually able to recycle are paper and cardboard.
As well as shredding and recycling confidential papers we are also happy to recycle any envelopes or card folders. Whilst most paperwork that is sent to us is in fact confidential it does not need to be, and in fact we will recycle any clean, dry paper. If however, you have a large collection of brochures or magazines you will need to confirm with your Simply Shredding depot how they will handle this.

The Recycling Process

In order to recycle you need to turn used material back into useful materialand by doing this, it reduces the need for more raw materials to be used. Therefore, wherever possible all baled paper or cardboard is taken direct to the relevant mills within the UK so that this process can be completed. Paper and cardboard is processed in a similar but different way, but the end result is to produce new paper and cardboard from the products Simply Shredding delivers in.

Why Recycle?

It has been calculated that for printing or copier paper which many of us use in the home and every day in the office, for every ton that is recycled it saves just over two tons of wood. Simply Shredding tries to monitor how many tons of wood it has saved through recycling. Check out our home page counter. Due to the differing thickness and height of trees in general it is not possible to equate this figure to the number of trees saved, but the figure is substantial and growing daily with every bale that is produced.

Planting Trees

To operate a branch of Simply Shredding you agree to plant two native oak trees annually through the Woodland Trust. The Woodland Trust is dedicated to maintaining and increasing areas of native woodland throughout the UK and welcomes the support from the business community. Simply Shredding looks forward to developing its campaign further in an attempt to keep our countryside looking the way it should.
